Postsecondary Legal Landscape of SOGI Data (Phase 1): Evolving and Prevailing

Abstract

Dr. York will serve as panel moderator and will give an overview of the currently changing national and postsecondary landscape regarding the collection and use of SOGI data. Dr. York will also provide an overview of the national study (Catalyzing a Data Infrastructure to Support LGBTQ Inclusion) being led by AAAS in partnership with the University of Vermont’s QTPiE Center, and the University of California Los Angeles’ WIlliams Institute. Dr. York will share some highlighted findings from Phase 1 of the study which included a state-by-state and federal analysis of the interconnected policies that relate to postsecondary SOGI data collection and use.
