Female doctoral students often experience several challenges in the program while balancing their personal and family roles (Callary et al., 2012; Catalano & Radin, 2021. This phenomenological study investigated the experiences of student mothers (N=6) while pursuing full-time doctoral degrees and provided insights into how they navigate a research university to achieve their academic and professional goals. The study has one central research question: What are the experiences of full-time doctoral student mothers at research one university while caring for their child/ren, pursuing a career/researching the Education field? The findings highlight the importance of social support in the success and well-being of female international doctoral students.
