Abstract

This study explores the factors that affect the success of primary school students in a prestigious Jamaican high school. Using a grounded theory approach, it was found that academic achievement is significantly influenced by socioeconomic status, parental involvement, regular attendance, and an inclusive learning environment. The research highlights a multifaceted interaction of personal, familial, and institutional factors, emphasizing the need for holistic approaches to achieve educational equity. To promote inclusivity in schools, it is recommended to address socio-economic challenges, encourage parental engagement, reduce absenteeism, and create a welcoming and inclusive educational environment.
