Abstract

Culture is expressed in an organization’s values, norms, stories, and artifacts (Bolman & Deal, 2013). Organizational climate is a relatively enduring quality and includes individuals’ perceptions of their work environment, including cultural dimensions. As student teachers make the transition from student to professional teacher, thoughts and visions of teaching in a real classroom include the organization and culture of a school. Spirituality in the workplace provides a holistic approach embracing the entirety of work-related activities which are traced from one’s inner self. Spirituality in the workplace can be an invaluable contribution toward reciprocal relationships with trust, honesty, and community for student teachers who are beginning their professional journey in teaching. Spirituality in the workplace promotes authenticity, reciprocity, and positive well-being.
