Abstract

In Summer 2019, a group of 4 elementary pre-service teachers participated in a faculty-led 10-day Taiwan Study Abroad Program. The program involved a 2-1/2-day English Language Camp in a local elementary school. This qualitative study was attempted to investigate the teaching and learning experience of the pre-service teachers in an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) context. The results revealed four themes, which included the pre-service teachers’ perceptions of effective teaching strategies, their concerns, and room for improvement in their teaching. All participants asserted that they had positive teaching and learning experiences in the English Language Camp.
