"This study sets out to understand how one historically excluded demographic, from both inquiry and practice, of educational administrators, LGBTQ+ people of color, characterize their ascension to the college presidency. A critical feminist analysis ˆemploying the conceptual frameworks of intersectionality and queer theories guides this multiple case study design. While varied in unique and nuanced standpoints, broad characterizations reveal shared challenges and success in navigating interlocking systems of power in career navigation to the college presidency. Implications for practice from the results of this line of inquiry contribute to a growing line of scholarship that seeks to improve efforts focused on diversifying the US college presidency.
