My research constitutes a systematic attempt to center race in the literacy practices of international students who may be coming from contexts where such discussions may be less prominent. My dissertation aims to explore and understand in-depth international East Asian undergraduate students' experiences, perceptions, and literacy practices related to learning, un-learning, and re-learning about race both in their home countries and in the U.S. Given the underrepresentation of international students' experiences with race and the development of their racial literacy in the US, my research contributes to the visibility of this student population in race research.
