Bullying victimization negatively impacts adolescents' well-being and school engagement, notably diminishing their sense of belonging. This study utilizes 2019 TIMSS data from 35 countries, including the United States, to examine the relationship between bullying victimization and school belonging, with a focus on the moderating role of students' immigrant status. Preliminary results show a consistent negative association globally, but contrasting results in the United States reveal lower school belonging among immigrant students when other conditions are equal. These findings underline the nuanced dynamics of bullying and belonging, especially for immigrant adolescents, contributing to a more comprehensive understanding of the cultural contexts shaping these experiences.
