Academic bullying can happen to a variety of early-career researchers; however, it is scarcely examined within graduate students' populations (Science, 2021). This study uses the 2019 PhD survey dataset to reveal PhD students' reports of bullying experiences in their program. Adopting a logistic regression model, this research found that gender and international status are associated with the report of bullying experiences for PhD students. Female and non-binary students are 68% more likely to report bullying compared to male students; international students are 23.8% more likely to report bullying compared to domestic students. In this global sample, there is also the possibility to explore the variance of reports of bullying in different countries."
