One of the desired student outcomes outlined in the ABET criteria for accrediting engineering programs is the "ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks and meet objectives (ABET, p.9)." Despite one of the seven ABET criteria for students to have the ability to function in high-performing teams, there is no consensus on the attributes that promote effective teamwork in engineering education (Adams et al., 2002; Davis & Ulseth, 2013). We used design-based research methodologies to develop a workshop to help students reflect and improve their teaming experience.
