Centering the Voices of Justice-impacted Students in Social Work Education: Building a Practice of Abolition-compatible Feminist Research.

Sun, April 14, 11:25am to 12:55pm, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Room 204ABC

Abstract

Drawing on abolition feminism to inform qualitative research methodology supports research practices which center justice-impacted participants as colleagues and provides opportunities for unanticipated stories to be shared. Navigating reflexive thematic analysis with abolition-compatible practices opens the question, what could full and free access to social work higher education look like? What would be possible if justice-impacted individuals were fully welcomed?
