The nation’s schools are currently facing an unprecedented challenge with ensuring fair and just communities. These issues have heightened questions about racial justice and can no longer be ignored. Many school organizations enable the status quo by not confronting issues around gender and racial equity. Many Latinas want a seat at the leadership table and can be highly valued contributors for promoting just and equitable educational outcomes. This presentation amplifies the voices of Latina leaders who contributed their research-based accounts of Latina leadership formation, retention and recruitment, and theoretical frameworks for mentoring the advancement for Latinas in schools’ systems.
