The nation is currently facing an unprecedented challenge with ensuring a fair and just society. These issues have heightened questions about racial and gender equality for Latinas which no longer can be ignored. Many organizations enable the status quo by not confronting these issues and have perpetuated marginalizing the Latina voice. This session is a result of a co-edited book, Baila Conmigo: Mentoring Latinas as School Leaders that is essential for Latina educational leadership. Presenters identify unique mentoring needs of Latina leaders and offer a mentoring framework, so that Latinas can occupy leadership roles and remain true to their roots. These roots are evidenced throughout the which includes the use of dichos (proverbs), testimonios (personal narratives) and consejos (recommendations).
