Session Type: Symposium
This symposium seeks to understand teachers from the interplay of individual’s knowledge(s) and environment conditions (Priestley, Biesta, & Robinson, 2015). It dissects the transformation and (re)construction of Chinese teachers’ subjectivity in response to dynamic global-local influences such as neoliberal restructuring, traditional values, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technological advancements. Presentations investigate the impact on diverse teacher groups, including those in compulsory education and novice university teachers, addressing post-industrial era challenges and subjective experiences. The symposium contributes significantly to understanding teacher subjectivity and agency, offering valuable insights for educators tackling educational epistemological complexities.
