Session Type: Symposium
High quality secondary education serves as a pathway to post-secondary options for students. However, evidence shows that queer and trans (QT) students are underserved. The objective of this session is to explore QT students’ secondary experiences through critical quantitative methods using the HSLS:09 federal data. Each presentation will contribute to a foundational literature base in efforts to move the fields of QT studies and K-12 education in conversation with each other. This session is designed to show different perspectives of the secondary experience for QT high school students and will provide practical and policy recommendations for stakeholders.
