Session Type: Symposium
The acquisition of digital citizenship among youth and community has emerged as a vital domain of inquiry owing to the ubiquitous presence of digital technologies within households, educational institutions, and society at large. Essential competencies and ethical considerations necessary to navigate the digital landscape effectively have become imperative, particularly for young people. This symposium aims to explore digital citizenship initiatives undertaken by five diverse nations: Argentina, Australia, Canada, China (Hong Kong SAR), and Norway. By presenting comparative studies, this panel sheds light on distinct perspectives concerning the conceptualization and manifestation of digital citizenship education within each country. Through this transdisciplinary exploration, we seek to enrich understanding of the multifaceted nature of digital citizenship education and its contextual nuances across nations.
