Developing Authentic Research Practice Partnerships (RPPs) for Educational Change: Perspectives on Principles, and Practices From Four Diverse Contexts

Fri, April 12, 7:45 to 9:15am, Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, Floor: Level 4, Franklin 7

Session Type: Symposium

Abstract

This symposium draws on the work of researchers and practitioners from across four continents. The focus of the symposium, Research Practice Partnerships (RPPs) is not a new phenomenon. However, RPPs have the potential to stimulate innovation to disrupt and create a new world as it should be (Benjamin, 2022) and are gaining significant interest within educational systems across the globe. This symposium draws on four diverse cases to explore the principles and practices involved in initiating and sustaining RPPs in a range of cultural, geographical and policy contexts. The papers reflect on how schools, school districts and other partners have developed capacities to tackle issues of educational equity, discrimination and diversity in their specific contexts.
