Session Type: Symposium
This symposium will bring together four papers to frame how we move toward a shared vision of educational possibilities through educational leaders learning to lead for equity. The four studies illustrate different approaches and diverse perspectives in supporting educational leadership learning. These seemingly separate efforts address different dimensions and components of our educational system, making it possible for educational leaders (of different professional levels and school settings) to re-examine their beliefs and practices. The examples in the four studies together illustrate possible trajectories for educational leadership learning toward creating more-equitable schools. We ask the central question: How do these efforts deepen leadership capacity for equity, provide leaders with tools, and prepare them to work in racially diverse schools?
