Session Type: Symposium
This panel will explore critical conceptualizations of well-being and thriving in higher education spaces. Increases in mental health challenges on campuses have made responding to students’ well-being needs a priority. But as higher education institutions navigate supporting students, it is necessary to develop an ecological and multidimensional perspective that considers structures and systems that influence our many ways of being well. This highly interactive panel will focus on well-being for students of color, LGBTQ+ students, and low-income students. The primary objective of the symposium is to identify diverse, effective, and identity-conscious ways in which researchers and educators are approaching postsecondary students’ well-being and thriving, with the whole student in mind.
