The symposium, “Celebrating Five Decades of Curriculum Theorizing and Praxis: The Enduring Impact of Michael Apple’s Contributions,” seeks to honor and engage the esteemed curriculum studies scholar Michael Apple in a discussion of his profound influence on the fields of curriculum studies and educational policy studies. It aims to bring together Apple’s former students, curriculum and education policy scholars who have engaged in scholarly discussions and debates with him over the years. Through this gathering, we intend to share how Apple’s curriculum theorizing and praxis have profoundly impacted their scholarly lives, research inquiries, and contributed to the advancement of curriculum and education policy studies. The symposium will foster panel discussions and interaction and engage the audience in enlightening conversations.
