10th Annual Language and Social Processes Mentoring Session

Abstract

This session encourages cross-“generational” dialogue within the LSP SIG. The workshop will begin with a 35-minute address featuring a senior scholar of language and social processes who is a recent recipient of the John J. Gumperz Award. Following the address, a 55-minute paired mentoring session will occur. Here, graduate students and early-career scholars will each discuss a manuscript with a senior LSP scholar-mentor with whom they have been matched in advance of the conference based on their scholarly interests and expertise.
