Session Type: Symposium
This session draws on an ongoing conversation among researchers engaged in research on educational system improvement, equity, and social justice. As part of that work, this symposium seeks to foster a deeper understanding of the ways different education systems approach issues of equity and the role that efforts to address equity play in school improvement and educational transformation in different contexts (Estonia, Ghana, Norway, Pakistan, & Vietnam). In the process, we hope to:
• Illuminate ways that equity is and is not being addressed across education systems
• Explore and compare the theories of school improvement and educational change reflected in approaches to equity in different contexts
Identify promising areas for future collaborative and cross-national research
