Session Type: Symposium
In this session, 4 arts-based educational researchers take up their collaborative workshop designed to examine the experimental and generative nature of the concept of repetition. Each author examines their own pedagogical and creative experimentation with the concept of repetition to counter neoliberal notions of competition within higher education and nonprofit contexts. The audience is invited to experiment with their own experiences in education through the concept of repetition. Papers topics include: the practices of contemporary artists working within mental and emotional health can promote a new generation of life skills, in the aftermath of COVID-19; disruption informed by stories of parasites; the role of memory in creative practices to imagine and create ethical realities; theorizing through repetitive art making processes.
