Session Type: Symposium
To engage researchers and organizational stakeholders in a discussion about the role of credit recovery, this symposium provides an in-depth look at credit recovery from multiple perspectives. The symposium will engage the audience in a discussion about findings from a multifaceted project that included a randomized study comparing online and traditional teacher-directed classes for ninth grade credit recovery, an analysis of online program extant data, interviews with students who experienced credit recovery, and interviews with district leaders. The four presentations, along with two discussants, will promote a discussion about how to improve credit recovery for more equitable learning opportunities and outcomes. The symposium’s structure includes an extended discussion that will encourage audience participation.
