Session Type: Symposium
More detailed descriptions of qualitative data analysis in educational research studies is needed. This symposium draws from three education-focused chapters from a forthcoming book on qualitative data analysis. The session features an introduction to the book and three papers addressing racial and disability injustices and sexual assault in educational settings. The studies used autoethnography, video data analysis, and qualitatively oriented mixed methods approaches. These presentations will carefully detail the qualitative analyses from the example studies including multiple visuals of the researchers’ qualitative analytical practices, making them especially relevant for novice and emerging educational researchers as well as mentors and professors of qualitative research. A discussion will follow on the synergies between the chapters, discussant comments, and questions from the audience.
