Session Type: Roundtable Session
In this roundtable we explore how two education research-practice partnerships (RPPs) at the same university pursue collaborative research that responds to district interests. One RPP links university faculty to two neighboring school districts, ensuring that university research conducted in those districts is mutually beneficial and honors educator expertise. The other RPP makes use of a digital curriculum provider partner’s national de-identified dataset and brings in educator partners to shed light on the patterns seen in these data. We explore these two approaches through RPP overviews and a case study from each RPP. Both cases illustrate the vital nature of relationship-building among partners and the value of educators’ deep contextual knowledge of their districts.
