Session Type: Symposium
Educational psychology theory and research-based practices play a central role in advancing equity, social justice, and inclusion within teacher education as well as preparing culturally and developmentally responsive educators. This symposium explores the teaching of educational psychology within the context of teacher education through the perspectives of a doctoral candidate, early career scholar, tenured professor, and college dean. The session is guided by three questions: 1) How does educational psychology inform your work and identity as a scholar? How has this evolved over time? 2) What are the most pressing issues and areas of growth in the teaching of educational psychology? 3) How does your scholarship utilize educational psychology to enact change and advance the field of teacher education?
