The urgent need to advance social equity impacts the paradigm for leadership in both what it is and how it is developed. Professions education programs plant the seeds of leadership in training and nurture them across the career professional development continuum. Exploration of transformative leadership and leadership in disruption can inform efforts to prepare HPE leaders to more effectively advance social equity. Presenters will introduce critical issues and provide innovative perspectives that align effective leadership to social equity. The discussant will provide context for participants to share and expand the presentations to frame possible avenues for research efforts to more effectively address leadership issues and position leadership training and professional development to advance social equity.
