Session Type: Symposium
Professional learning structured to enable collaborative inquiry between educators and BIPOC community partners and researchers has the potential to foster culturally sustaining practices that broaden and decolonize understandings of student success, pedagogy, and educational leadership. With this symposium, we wish to extend knowledge sharing and spur new research and knowledge co-creation about and through professional learning networks to increase the uptake of equity-oriented educational change. This symposium brings together researchers to share their work regarding professional learning and professional learning networks that strive for pedagogical and structural transformation with equity-deserving communities. Researchers will present their papers for 15 minutes each. We will conclude with commentary from a discussant about implications for policy, practice, and research followed by dialogue with attendees.
