Session Type: Symposium
The UNCF Patterson Research Institute will deliver two presentations on capacity-building work from institutional and intermediary perspectives. The first presentation will highlight how HBCU administrators define and implement capacity building through a Black Adult Learner grant. The findings from this report will be used to develop a more culturally relevant capacity-building framework. The second presentation will examine how notable higher education philanthropies define and implement capacity-building using this new framework. An accompanying panel of scholars and intermediary representatives will be present to discuss current issues in capacity building. The symposium will end with an open dialogue with the audience to discuss future research on capacity building and any questions they want to ask of the panel and presenters.
