Session Type: Symposium
In 2006, Leech and Onwuegbuzie described the mixed methods research paradigm “still in its adolescence.” Eighteen years later, that methodological tween should be independent with an established and accepted typology… right? In this session, a panel of four mixed methods experts gather to discuss the results of a systematic review, debating the merits of standardization in the field, and examining the nuances of the paradigm. Topics include mixed methods design elements, complexity and robustness of collected and analyzed data, the extent of integration, congruence across design elements, and evidence of the researchers’ epistemological perspectives.
