Session Type: Symposium
As Black women educational (re)searchers, we investigate our co-generative experiences via our research trip to Ghana in the summer of 2022 (Dillard, 2016). Upon our (re)turn we cultivated a “Black” space of sisterhood, with the support of Black women elder scholars (McKittrick, 2006). In this symposium, Black Joy and Wellness are centered. We marshal Beyoncé’s Renaissance album as a theoretical framework through which to interrogate our (re)turn from Ghana, what it has yielded, and how it has created space for us to be and show up for one another both personally and professionally on this side of the water.
