“Empiricists believe the validity of educational research is measured predominantly by the study’s alignment to positivism” (Matias, 2021, 3). Nevertheless, scholars and educational researchers of color’s realities and truths in the work that they do have often been muted, discredited, or deemed unworthy (Matias, 2021; Muhs et al, 2012). Recent scholarly works have corroborated the importance of highlighting the intersectionality and biographical vignettes in qualitative research (see references). The objective of this workshop is to create interactive discourses among BIPOC educational researchers so that they can: 1) reclaim their voice with their intersectionality, 2) construct a create intersectional biographical vignettes at the workshop, and 3) interweave the vignettes as reflexivity tool in their research projects (samples will be shared).
