Session Type: Paper Session
This symposium presents field-advancing research on nurturing growth mindset in educational settings. Studies in this session examine growth mindsets through different methodologies in which they examine teacher and student beliefs, the role of mastery goals in math engagement, students' perceptions of classroom cultures, and the impact of these beliefs on belonging, achievement goals, and well-being in adolescents. Importantly, these papers consider factors that contextualize different classroom environments. The implications of this work for theory and measurement will be discussed.
