This paper session brings together diverse studies examining how to address issues of equity, justice, and inclusion in informal learning settings. A diversity of approaches are presented, including a participatory design approach with intergenerational families to combat environmental racism, a social-justice based STEM pathway program to broaden STEM participation, asset-based approach valuing museum visitor’s knowledge, and culturally-relevant pedagogy in a STEM immersion afterschool program to promote participation of marginalized youth in STEM. This session will take a closer look at informal learning programs and pedagogies that seek to increase equity, justice, and inclusion.
