Abstract

Join us for a conversation with Janet Miller centered on grappling with impossibilities of leaving behind or turning away from matters of inheritance and indebtedness, not only in relation to the “subject” of biographical projects, but also in relation to the very precepts that, for centuries, have undergirded biographical writings. Here, we will explore theoretical perspectives that may enable us to resist reinforcing typical biographical binaries, such as past/present, and/or boundaries requiring sameness and therefore rejections of any version of “other.”
