Session Type: Paper Session
Over the past few decades, research on the experiences of Latina/o/x students at Hispanic Serving Institutions and Historically Black Colleges has allowed us to understand the role that these institutions play in educating Latinas/os/x. Recent scholarship has emerged that has pushed our understanding of what it means to serve and the accountability that needs to exists within these higher education spaces. The papers in this session expand our understanding of the critical role that minority serving institutions play in educating Latina/o/x students and providing career opportunity and advancement for Latina/o/x faculty. Collectively, the papers push our thinking to examine new and future directions for research about Latina/o/x students and faculty within HSIs and other Minority Serving Institutions.
