Cultivando Comunidad: Testimonios as Mentorship / 培育社区：亲历即启发

Abstract

The 90-minute mentorship session at the 2024 AERA annual conference is an opportunity for Bilingual Education Research SIG members to cultivate community and mentorship relationships with scholars in our field. The first 30 minutes will consist of panelists sharing testimonios about their experiences in academia as both mentors and mentees and will follow with Q&A. Some of the topics will include: navigating academia, the job market, publishing articles, tenure preparation, career/life strategies, and seeking mentorships. The last 60 minutes will be dedicated time for participating mentees to be paired with mentors who have similar or related research interests.
