Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
The purpose of this session will be to explore and discuss the lived experiences
of Black females who now hold or have held administrative positions in two and four-
year predominantly white colleges and universities and minority serving institutions.
Panelists will give brief descriptions of their positions, their primary responsibilities in
their respective institutions, and what they view as major factors that contribute to
racial injustice in higher education. Panelists will then be asked to respond to three to
four questions about how they, as Black women, approach the complex task of
dismantling racial injustice, and the strategies they use as they work toward ensuring a
racially just institutional climate.
