In February 2023, the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court ruled the current school funding formula for the state of Pennsylvania unconstitutional. This historic ruling underscores the need to re-examine approaches toward school funding, especially when grappling with long-standing educational disparities across and within school districts. Division L is hosting a fireside chat to discuss the historical context leading up to the decision. The dialogue will spotlight the efforts of both scholars and practitioners who are working to inform research, policy, and practice at the intersection of school funding and equitable educational outcomes.
