Session Type: Paper Session
This symposium addresses a question many novices and emerging scholars have grappled with as they research, develop, and disseminate their work. Each paper provides insights from various perspectives on the framework development process used to capture their visions of gaps in their disciplinary fields. The authors build on different processes based on the extant literature, seminal works of scholars, discipline-focused books, and established frameworks to develop their conceptual frameworks. While each paper is rooted in the constructivism theory and interpreted through that lens, they also draw from various perspectives to analyze their work. The results are conceptual frameworks that implicate teacher preparation programs, research scholars, and their significance to the AERA theme discussed.
