Abstract

This mixed methods study investigates the impact of targeted professional development on K-12 teacher leaders and administrators' capacity to lead equity initiatives in their schools and districts. Guided by the framework of transformative leadership, the study examines changes in participants' knowledge, practices, and perceptions following a multi-phase equity project. Quantitative pre-project survey data and qualitative focus group interviews provide insights into the challenges and successes of coaching and leading teachers for equity. The study highlights the importance of differentiated support, collaborative leadership, and ongoing reflection for sustaining equity work in K-12 settings, contributing to the advancement of equitable education for all students.
