This study examined the social factors influencing Latino students' academic performance in South Texas using a mixed methods approach. Qualitative data were collected via systematic review, and quantitative data via a questionnaire, employing a quali-quanti sequential design. Textual network analysis was used for qualitative analysis, while Kruskal-Wallis and regression analyses were used for quantitative analysis. The themes explored were: Navigating College Choices through Social and Financial Capital, Cultural Capital and Its Role in Educational Inequities, and Leveraging Cultural Capital and Community Wealth for Educational Success. Results indicated academic challenges aligned with social, financial, and cultural capital themes, with academic resources and student outreach programs providing essential support mechanisms.
