Academic dishonesty is a significant concern in academic learning, impacting the educational quality of institutions and schools, especially with the rise of generative artificial intelligence. This research aimed to explore the increasing phenomenon of academic dishonesty in higher education. Specifically, it investigated the frequency of student engagement in academic dishonesty, the underlying reasons, and the level of awareness about this issue. Enhancing awareness, prevention, and education regarding academic dishonesty can create a more positive environment for students in higher education. This study employed a mixed-methods research design in examining the factors mentioned above.
