Ethical Reflections in AI-Enhanced Education Through the Lens of Taoism

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, AI demonstrated significant contributions to education, such as supporting remote learning through online platforms and intelligent tutoring systems. However, concerns remain about excessive data collection and the risk of transforming contact-tracing AI programs into routine surveillance systems. Therefore, the discussion on the role of AI in education has become a hot topic. This study aims to analyze the advantages, disadvantages, and pitfalls of AI in education from the perspective of Taoism.
