Effects of AI-Generated Evaluation of English Speaking: Impact on Speaking Anxiety and Achievement

Abstract

The effectiveness and influence of AI feedback tools on English speaking anxiety and the performance of students are the focus of this study. A total of 64 students who were aged 21 to 25 years participated in the study. A speaking anxiety assessment scale and pre- and post-intervention speaking tests were administered to participants using a single-group repeated measures design. The results indicated that the intervention dramatically enhanced participants' speaking performance and abated their anxiety levels. Overall, this study offers a developed groundwork for teachers to practice AI-supported teaching and can help AI technology permeate the teaching process, advancing students' speaking skills and thereby reducing stress.
