Abstract

Who are the people behind GA’s K-12 Asian American studies movement, and what are their hopes, struggles, and joys in advancing humanizing and liberating curriculum for all students? This study draws from theories and praxis of ethnic studies and AsianCrit to tell the story of a grassroots organizing in Georgia for K-12 Asian American and ethnic studies education. Findings highlight the importance of local contexts, coalition building, and the agency and resistance of Asian American communities in the ongoing fight against white settler supremacy in education.
