The Effect of Online Assessments on Students' Procedural and Conceptual Understanding of Limits Within a Calculus Course

Abstract

This study examined how online formative assessment influences calculus students' understanding of limit concepts. We especially focused on their procedural and conceptual understanding of limit. Several assessment items were used. Our finding showed mixed results and our recommendations to calculus instructors' were also mentioned.
