Abstract

Few studies explore the college transition experiences of veterans, a diverse student population inclusive of individuals who have served in the United States Military and have transitioned from service to higher education. This study applies Veterans Critical Theory (VCT) to investigate the systemic challenges and unique experiences of veterans during their transition to college. By highlighting issues of systemic barriers, power dynamics, and inequality, this research offers empirical insights to guide the implementation of customized policies and practices in higher education.
