Thu, April 24, 1:45 to 3:15pm MDT (1:45 to 3:15pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Meeting Room Level, Room 606

Abstract

This study explores a youth participatory action research (YPAR) project about the history and legacy of Shermantown, a historically Black community, and its relationship with Stone Mountain, Georgia. During the investigation, we sought to understand how youth develop and experience historical empathy as part of place-based, community engaged research.
